During 2008/2009, TUI Travel increased the capacity of its dedicated Group Sustainable Development Department from three to four people. The department’s role is to drive sustainability performance across the Group towards FTSE100 best practice and to forge industry leadership in key sustainability issues. It also has a particular remit to guide TUI UK & Ireland’s sustainable development strategy and activities.
Each Sector has a Sustainable Development Coordinator with a remit to develop and implement sustainable development strategy within their Sector. This year, the Sector Coordinators have appointed a network of champions to support them in the delivery of Group and Sector sustainable development strategy.
